I'm savouring my cold
glass of beer
Telling myself I've really ended
When I'm away right on the
corner of my eye
The shadow of a man sits
down beside me
He cracks a frail joke and
I force him a smile
I just know this
guy won't bore me
So he persists to tell of all
the places he has been
From every town to every country
Oh, I wish I'd never come here tonight
For once in my life I'd like
to meet something good
He tells me that he speaks
Yugoslavian
An d different dialects
from all the regions
He's stifling my amusement I
quickly change the subject
I ask him if he's lived
around here for long
He takes this as his cue to rattle off the
tale of the journal of the diary of his life
I stifle my amusement at a yawn
When I look at the sky straight in the eye
I tell him to get lost but shut his mouth
He buys me a drink and
says he likes his bar
Cause you can walk in
and talk to just anyone
Quite freely about anything
An d you're never
short of drinking while
The stories they tell, well,
are really quite amusing, aren't they?
I stifle my amusements an
d yawn
Why do I always get as
sholes and drunks?
Oh, sexual strain, it's heavy,
yeah
He cracks another frail joke
And I force out another painful smile
I tell him that I've got an early
start tomorrow morning
It's later than I thought and I really must
go home
