There's a
trade we all know well
It's bringing cattle over
On every track to the Gulf and back
They know that Queensland's a rover
There are men from every land
From Spain and France and Flanders
A well -mixed pack, both white and black
The Queensland Overlanders
Pass the billy -round, boys
And don't you let the
pint -pots stand there
For tonight we'll drink the health
Of every Overlander
As I pass along the road, all the kids,
raise me dander, saying,
Mother, quick, take in the clothes,
here comes the overlander.
When we've earned a spree in town
Well, we live like pigs in Culover
And the hold -down check
pours down the neck
Of many a Queensland rover
Pass the billy round boys
And don't let the pinepods stand there
For tonight we'll drink the health
Of every overlander
There's a girl in Sydney town
She says, don't leave me lonely
I said it's sad, but my old parade
Has room for one man only
Now I'm bound for home once more
And this pony, he's a goer
I'll pick up a job with
a crawling mob
Somewhere along the Maranoa
Pass the billy round boys
And don't let the pint pot stand there
For tonight we'll drink the health
Of every overlander
