Pete Seeger first founded in the Appalachians, I believe I've
been in arguments with people before
about the simplicity
of the mountain people

because I spent quite a bit of time in the Ozarks,
The mountain people are not simple
people
called Beardy Ed Presnell
he's a dulcimer
maker on Beach Mountain.
No, no kidding, this guy lives so far
back in the mountains
I ripped my muffler off getting up there.
Beardy Ed Presnick.
He made him a little bit of money
selling a certain form of liquid and fruit jars
and he went down and bought himself
a Cadillac.
Drove it something like 180 miles
to his front door
built a little shed for it
and it's been sitting there since 1960
he sits in it every once in
while you know and listen to the radio
as I said they're not simple people
and this song I think sort of exemplifies
this because it's an Appalachian lullaby
called one grain of sand
One grain of sand
