Her lassie's all she fair excels,
And she has t 'wa sparkling, roguish sheen.
When rising Phoebus first is seen,
When dew drops twinkle o 'er the lawn,
And she has twa sparklin' roggy sheen.
She's stately like yon youthful ash,
That grows the cowslips braze at ween,
And drinks the stream with vigour fresh,

She's spotless like the flooring thorn,
When purest in the dewy morn,

Her looks are like the vernal May
When evening fever shines serene
While birds rejoice on every spray
