The road we walk is winding,
and the sky above is white
Like the wildest rivers now,
all the years just flow on by
When the words I write
and the songs I sing
ever pass the test of time
Maybe all I'm passing down
are the eyes that look like mine
In your life there will be people,
some will stay, some fall behind
Some roads come together
and some will never intertwine
Will the dreams we've dared to chase
be why and the reason that they do?
Or will it only go
and add more space
from me to you?
Here comes the sound of evening
when the day turns into night
I think of all the mo ments
that only slipped just out of sight
Will these one few years that we spend down
here be remembered with a smile?
Or will there then be si lence
after just a little while?
The sun will rise tomorrow
when the moon will say goodbye
Life goes on in circles
as the seasons drift on by
Will the light you give
be enough
to take all the darkness out of May?
Or will it just be scattered
like the dawn that ends the day?
We think we all got the answers,
the question's still unknown
There's growing up a hanging tree
from a seed that we have sown
Will the wisdom that we have gathered
here
be a guide for those behind?
Or just another road to take
to get lost along the line?
On the winding road of life
