I used to be a part of a singing family
called the Carter family
and I sung for many years with my family.
In the beginning of country music,
well in the early 1920s,
there was about a lot
of Carter family songs.
In the 20s and 30s
there's about 350 or 400
of those old songs
and yeah
I was at the beginning of country music
by my mother Mabel Carter,
Uncle A .P. Carter
and Aunt Sarah Carter and I sung these songs
