We
share a mutual ambition,
which naught can disarrange.
Based on the hopeful supposition,
that soon our luck will change.
Though we very often wonder
whether poverty may win the day
Just as long as we remain to gether,
troubles seem to fade away
However hard a bed one lies on,
the same old dreams begin
We're always scanning the horizon
for when our ship comes in.
We'll have a sweet little cafe
in a neat little square.
We'll find our vultures
and our happiness there.
We shall thrive on the vain
and resplendent,
And contrive to re
main independent.
We'll have a meek reputation
and a chic piantel.
Kings will hold us fair.
We'll be so zealous
that half the world will be jealous
Of our sweet little cafe
in love's square
Can you imagine our
sen sations
when we've se curity
An d all our dreary deprivations
are just a memory
Though we're very often driven,
frantic,
this is very hard to find
All these restful days
will seem romantic
when we left them far be hind.
Faith needn't seem quite
such a dragger.
She knows how tired we are.
We'll hitch a hopeful little wagon
unto a lucky star.
We'll have a sweet little cafe
We'll find a fortune and a happiness there
We shall thrive on the vain
and the resplen dent
And can try to remain independent
We'll have a meek reputation
and a cheeky appeal
Pink will fall under our spell
We'll be so jealous
that the world will be jealous
Oh, those sweet little nappets
in my square.
