San Ant
onio,
Texas is the place where I was born.
I went back there a couple
of weeks ago
To reminisce with my old friends
An d I heard some real
good country mu sic
And fell in love with a rodeo man
His eyes were bluer
than a misty morning
I think I'm going back again
Take me there,
Bandera
Highway,
to the places where I grew.
Need the mesky trees and the
warm summer breeze.
You gotta savor all your childhood
memories
Memories
Driving slow with the window down
By the river I could see
The deja vu was knocking
at my door
Something here remembers me
And I've been a long,
long way from yesterday
So far away I couldn't see
An d somehow lately I
decided I
Would look up a page of history
So there I will
Take me there,
Bandera
Highway
To the places where I grew
Near the mesquite trees
And the warm summer breeze
You gotta savor
All your childhood memories
Memories
Well, I've turned some corner
s around this old town
And I've seen battle scars around the
Alamo
And it sure amazes me
to think about
How they fought so long
ago in this old town
But here I go to pack my bags again
And follow the lone star in the sky
And I don't think I could ever leave
San
Antonio
home without a teardrop in my eye take me there
been there a highway to the places where i grew
meet the mesky trees and the warm summer breeze
you gotta savor all your childhood memories
Memories
